App: Gleamlock: Logic Grid Puzzle (Android package com.pocketpuddle.gleamlock)
This policy explains what information the app uses and why. We keep it short because we collect very little ourselves.
1. Who the app is for
Gleamlock is a general-audience game for people aged 13 and over. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used the app, contact us and we will help.
2. What we collect ourselves
Nothing that identifies you. There is no account, login, or sign-up. We do not run our own servers for the game and do not receive your name, email address, contacts, photos, microphone, or precise location.
The following stay only on your device:
- Game progress (current level, stars), your best times, an in-progress puzzle, your Daily Puzzle calendar, streak and grace day, and your settings (sound, vibration, whether ads were removed). The Daily Puzzle is generated on your device from the date; no data is sent anywhere for it.
Uninstalling the app removes this local data.
3. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The app shows ads from Google AdMob (Google LLC). To serve and measure ads, Google and its ad partners may collect and use:
- Device and advertising identifiers (such as the Android Advertising ID),
- IP address and approximate location derived from it,
- App interactions, ad interactions and performance, device information (model, OS version, language), and diagnostics/crash data.
We use ads in two forms: rewarded video ads (optional - you choose to watch one to get an extra hint) and interstitial ads on some result screens between puzzles (never during your first session, and never while you are solving). The app is configured as a general-audience (13+) app: we do not treat it as child-directed, and we set the maximum ad content rating to Teen.
You can control advertising:
- Consent choices: where required by law (for example in the EEA, UK and Switzerland), the app shows a Google consent form on first launch. You can change your choice later in Settings -> Ad privacy choices (shown when applicable).
- Android settings: you can reset your advertising ID or opt out of ads personalization in Settings -> Privacy -> Ads on your device.
- Learn more: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads and https://policies.google.com/privacy
Paying for Remove Ads turns off interstitial and banner ads. Optional rewarded ads remain available if you choose them.
4. Purchases (Google Play Billing)
If you buy Remove Ads, the purchase is processed by Google Play. We do not see or store your payment details. We receive only a purchase confirmation from Google Play so we can unlock the feature, and we check it again when you reinstall or use "Restore purchase". Google's handling of your data is described in the Google Play privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
5. Permissions the app requests
The app's Android manifest declares exactly the following permissions. None of them gives the app access to your contacts, photos, files, camera, microphone, calendar, or location.
INTERNET- to load ads and verify purchases.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE- to check whether a network connection is available before loading ads or purchases.com.android.vending.BILLING- for the optional Remove Ads purchase through Google Play.com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_IDandandroid.permission.AD_ID- lets Google AdMob read the Android Advertising ID, as described in section 3. You can reset it or opt out in Android settings.VIBRATE- for haptic feedback (can be turned off in Settings).READ_BASIC_PHONE_STATE- requested by the Google ads library to read basic, non-identifying device state (for example network type) that helps it serve and measure ads. The app does not read your phone number, calls, or SMS.WAKE_LOCKandFOREGROUND_SERVICE- requested by the Google Play services/ads libraries to finish short background work (for example loading or reporting an ad). The app itself does not run a foreground service or keep your device awake.com.pocketpuddle.gleamlock.DYNAMIC_RECEIVER_NOT_EXPORTED_PERMISSION- an app-private permission added automatically by the Android support libraries so that only this app can receive its own internal broadcasts.
6. How information is shared
We do not sell your personal information. Data collected by Google AdMob and Google Play is handled by Google under its own terms and privacy policy. We do not share any other data with third parties because we do not collect any.
7. Retention and deletion
We hold no personal data on our systems, so there is nothing for us to delete. Local data is deleted when you uninstall the app or clear its storage. Data held by Google (for example ad or purchase records) is governed by Google; you can manage it at https://myaccount.google.com/data-and-privacy.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example the EEA, UK, or California), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict use of personal information, and to withdraw consent. Because we do not hold personal data about you, requests about advertising data should be directed to Google through the links above. You can also email us and we will point you in the right direction.
9. Security
Local game data is stored on your device. Network requests made by the ad and billing libraries use encrypted connections provided by Google.
10. Changes
If we change this policy we will update the effective date above and publish the new version at https://pocketpuddle.com/privacy/gleamlock. Material changes will also be reflected in the app's Google Play listing.
